Taegeuk 3 jang symbolizes the "Ra", one of the 8 divination signs, which represents "hot and bright".  This is to encourage the students to harbor a sense of justice and ardor for training.  A successful accomplishment of this poomse will give the students a promotion to a green-blue belt.  New actions are knife hand strike, knife hand block and the back stance.  This poomse is characterized by successive block and strike and continued attack.  Emphasis is laid on the counterattacks against the opponent's strike.  The 6th Kup-grade students practice this poomse.
